“Serenity and Adventure in this hidden gem”
We drove from Shanghai with a hired driver and arrived during a Chinese bank holiday, yet the place stayed very peaceful. Some main tourist spots were busier, but they’re easy to avoid if you prefer. Everyone was friendly, and the hotel area is stunning, surrounded by mountains, rivers, and bamboo forests. Many activities are available and can be booked directly through the hotel: walking, hiking, cycling, rafting, paragliding, and more. Bicycles are also for rent. There are a few restaurants nearby, and although there’s no Western cuisine, the local food is fantastic and fresh. The owners are very friendly and patient, even with our poor Mandarin, and the host can help pick the best places to eat. The hotel itself is exceptional: rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed; beds are perfect and noise is low. Charming outdoor seating lets you enjoy drinks, coffee, ice cream, and more from a small bar. Breakfast is delicious, and water bottles are free to grab. The hosts are outstanding—friendly, relaxed, and always willing to help, whether it’s taking you to scenic spots, booking activities, or drawing personalized walking and cycling maps. Their laid‑back approach made us feel at home. For us, the hotel and its surroundings offered everything we wanted: wonderful hosts, delicious food, tranquility, a relaxed vibe, breathtaking nature, and plenty of activities. There was nothing we didn’t like.
