The hotel sits in a prime central spot and the room was consistently spotless and equipped with all comforts; breakfast offered a good variety of high‑quality foods.

The hotel’s spot right in the old town was ideal, with every Vallette attraction just minutes away. My room, 304, was spacious, comfy and surprisingly quiet, and the air‑conditioning worked flawlessly, which was crucial in August. The front‑desk staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast took place down in the palace’s cellars; the cramped, dim and poorly ventilated setting felt stifling. The climate control had to be adjusted, and while the food selection was fairly varied, it lacked originality. It was a shame they didn’t serve Maltese specialties like pastizzis and that the fruit juices weren’t freshly pressed.

Everything—from city sightseeing and meals to trips to other towns—was handy, and the nearby supermarket made grocery shopping easy; the renovated historic building gave a romantic vibe. The air‑conditioning, however, was weak and the humidity was high.

Cozy little departments made for a relaxed breakfast in a special setting, but the two‑person breakfast table wasn’t convenient for a family.
