We were initially a little hesitant about Aquila after reading some mixed reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised and had a wonderful stay! The location and accommodation were beautiful, the buffet food was delicious, and the highlight, of course, was the safari drives which were incredible. We saw most of the Big Five up close, making it such a memorable experience. The staff were very friendly, and we also loved the spa — our African Wood Massage and facial were fantastic, with excellent therapists. Overall, a wonderful stay that exceeded our expectations. We’d definitely recommend Aquila private game reserve for a convenient safari close to Cape Town.

The hotel was clean and nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location was good and breakfast was tasty with a good selection. There is actually nothing negative to say; everything was fine and we were very satisfied with our stay.

Th setting was amazing. The cottage we stayed in was beautifully designed and set to experience a beautiful break in nature. To be able to look out on the reserve was beautiful. Travelling with 3 boys and being active parents it would be helpful to have more options to be active in between safaris. We stayed 2 nights, it was too cold for the pool and 2 of our children were too young for the indoor pool but too old for the little kids area. A gym, pickle ball court etc would be good
