Hamood runs a tiny camp that is absolutely fantastic, and with Monjur, who is an outstanding chef, the desert experience is superb. We especially enjoyed the tent we stayed in: the bed was very comfortable and the space was ample! The camp is a little off the usual path, which we loved, and sits almost atop the dunes—perfect for watching sunrises and sunsets. Hamood shared plenty about Omani culture and was a great host.

I liked this camp. I think a desert camp shouldn’t be overly luxurious; it should still feel like a camp, and that’s exactly what it was. I really enjoyed the campfire, tasty tea and coffee, and most of all, the company of travelers from around the world. The owner, Hamood, joined us to play the oud and sing songs. The host, who also cooks, was very friendly and actually prepared excellent meals. The location is also nice—slightly farther from other camps, so it’s quieter and great for watching sunrise and strolling around.

Hamood is a very good host, devoted with all his heart. We felt thoroughly cared for and well taken care of. Breakfast and dinner were fantastic. The camp’s location is exceptional and easy to reach. We were picked up at the meeting point and safely escorted to the camp. We can only recommend it. Value for money is top.

Food, service, campfire under the stars with traditional songs and dances—everything was well above expectations. Hamood and his staff will make your stay truly unforgettable! Everything was fabulous!
