The location was great—right on the beach, with plenty of towels and bottled water, and the reception staff were very helpful. Because it was secluded, getting around was difficult, and there was no on‑site restaurant.

The hospitality was 10/10, view was nice, and easy access to the open beach. There is nothing wrong with the property. Future guests should just know exactly where they are located. You’re practically in the middle of a jungle so it’s far to get to places. Planning ahead will avoid any problems with access outside of the hotel area

The concept they run, the respect, and the connection with nature were impressive. However, there was no dining service, and they didn’t inform us beforehand, which would have helped us make a more certain decision. Also, the hammock support broke and hit me, and there was no medical service.

The stay was simple, with the sound of waves and turtles laying eggs right outside the hotel. The pool was a real bonus when the sea was inaccessible. We ended up with two rooms instead of one. The sargasses were a downside.

Nothing positive. We left after one night of poor sleep. The pre‑booking information was misleading: we booked a room with air‑conditioning, but it could only be turned on at night, while daytime temperatures hit 37 °C, so a siesta was impossible. This wasn’t disclosed beforehand. The first half‑night was just hot in the room. The hotel is located in the middle of the jungle, which we were not aware of and dislike. Every day you had to pay extra for staying at Parc Jaquar, 125 Mexican pesos per person (6.25 €). Douna checks at the entrance. There was nothing to do inside or near the hotel. On the beach you couldn’t go because of huge amounts of rotting egg‑smelling brown seaweed. The path to the sea was blocked by seaweed. To reach your room you had to walk through muddy sand, with no path.
