“Overall, a hotel we can‘t recommend”
The gym was fine, but the cash deposit, clogged toilet, and sticky, dirty carpet made us unhappy. We can’t recommend the Ramada by Wyndham Oceanside. First, the $200 deposit was cash only, and the front‑desk ATM charged a fee to withdraw it—a surprise that frustrated many guests. We were two adults and two children, yet received only one room key. A sign in the elevator warned not to flush toilet paper, yet our toilet was already clogged upon arrival. Room 302 sat right on the busy Mission Ave, and the old AC unit was extremely loud, disrupting sleep. At the front desk, other guests were also asking for earplugs. The carpet was sticky, the mattress was worn and uncomfortable, and the room smelled musty, like a damp basement. The hair dryer and safe didn’t work. The most frustrating part was that we booked three nights and requested an early departure; Booking said they were waiting on confirmation from the hotel, while the hotel told us we’d have to check out first and then request a refund from Booking by phone. That seemed unlikely to work, so we were stuck in our smelly, wet room for the full stay. On the plus side, free parking (though full at night), a 24/7 accessible gym (key available at the front desk, everything fine except a broken exercise bike), and at $670 for three nights it was one of the more affordable options in Oceanside—though there was no pool or breakfast. Overall, a hotel we can’t recommend.
“Overall a great experience, definitely I would consider it in the future.”
The spot is great, just a 20‑minute walk to the beach and close to restaurants and markets, but the Wi‑Fi was a bit flaky and I often struggled to keep a steady connection.
I was very clean!. The dryers were not working
“DO NOT STAY HERE!!!”
I never actually stayed there. About an hour before my arrival they called to confirm my stay. The young woman told me a $200.00 cash deposit was required. I told her the notification I received said either cash or a credit card could be used and that a cash deposit was highly unusual. She then asked if she should cancel the reservation! I said no, and that I would agree to using a credit card per the notification but I was uncomfortable with cash and we would discuss it when I arrived. When I arrived, she took my credit card and charged me for the full stay. At that time I noticed a large placard on the counter stating that the deposit could be paid with cash or a credit card. She insisted on cash, then got her manager on the phone. She was extremely rude and informed me that my reservation was canceled. They took my credit card for room payment but somehow it wouldn’t be accepted for the deposit! I asked for a confirmation that my credit card would be credited but I haven’t seen any evidence in my account. DO NOT STAY HERE! I wouldn’t trust them. I have stayed at dozens of hotels and have never been treated this rudely and unfairly.

The location was great. No price.
