“Beautiful beach and location, but the room, service, and confusing billing don’t justify the $800+ price”
The beach is gorgeous and the spot is spot‑on. The kayaks and paddleboards were a highlight, probably the best part of the trip. Check‑in is listed for 4 PM, but we didn’t get our room until almost 5 PM. When we asked for a late checkout, the staff weren’t very accommodating. When we finally entered the room, it was still damp from housekeeping. The bed was uncomfortable, to say the least. Breakfast billing was confusing: I pre‑paid $25 per person for breakfast with taxes included in the total. After breakfast, I was handed a bill for $39 per person plus tax and gratuity. I was told this is how everyone is charged and that a credit is applied at checkout, but I still don’t understand why I was taxed again, and the whole process made no sense from a guest’s point of view. Most hotels in Key Largo run $150 to $300 a night. This resort charges over $800, which would be fine if the experience justified it. As a family that comes to Key Largo at least 4 to 5 times a year, we did not find the added value to match the price.
