“Friendly hosts, delicious home cooked meal for an authentic experience!”

We spent one night at this family‑run guesthouse, a forty‑minute stroll from the start of the Pallabadala/Ratnapura trail to Sri Pada. The area feels quiet and local, with a few small grocery shops nearby. The room, equipped with an overhead fan, and the bathroom are simple yet comfortable, and the hosts are incredibly friendly. I was especially impressed by jolly Lalith and his beautiful artwork, and by Chamali’s amazing home‑cooked meals at an unbelievable price. We’re grateful for such a pleasant experience before the long hike across Sri Pada. The only downside was that the bedroom windows lack mesh screens, so mosquitoes would get in if you open them, and the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner.

The accommodation has several rooms, each with its own bathroom, plus shared facilities like a kitchenette, dining area, and terrace. It was very clean. The owner and his wife are very pleasant. I recommend ordering food cooked directly by the owner’s wife; it’s excellent. The whole area is quiet, surrounded by greenery. The rooms are really small, so it’s best to contact the owner in advance—GPS coordinates don’t match.

The hosts were lovely and prepared delicious rice and curry for me. They were flexible with arrival times. The stay was a perfect break after the Sri Pada hike to rest. The bathrooms aren’t as clean as European standards, but anyone who isn’t a pussy can survive that 😂.
