“Not so pet friendly”
The hotel’s location is excellent—just a short walk to the beach and a 5‑minute drive to town—but many issues made the stay disappointing: the room was very dirty, with dried dog poop on the floor that wasn’t ours, a sticky floor, trash under the bed, a heavy smoke smell, a chain lock that was merely balanced on the door jamb and fell off, a window‑unit AC that barely cooled, a pool that wasn’t heated despite staff’s claims, a TV with a universal remote that randomly changed channels and shut off when a neighboring room used its remote, a restaurant that’s been closed for years yet still advertised, ongoing renovations that appear stalled, breakfast that started at 7 am, and the fact that the hotel is not truly pet‑friendly—dogs aren’t allowed in cottages, the designated spot for them is dirty and in a noisy parking lot, an additional $100 non‑refundable pet fee is charged, and pets left in rooms risk being removed by animal control; all of this should have been disclosed in the pet policy online before booking. Overall, the place has pretty flowers and could have a beautiful spot, but they’re declining with no clear intent to improve, and there are better beach hotels that treat you better with more space for pets.
