“Peaceful”
The room was spacious and well laid out, larger than most in the UK. It was on a lovely quiet street with big trees.

The bathroom had been renovated but the work was unfinished: no hooks for gowns, paint on the windows, and a broken latch held together with string. Breakfast was fine except on the first day when only bread and scrambled eggs were offered. Dinners were excellent, service friendly and efficient, and the bar and beer were good. However, the outside grounds were unkempt, littered with rubbish, weeds in the paved areas, and old decorations flapping in the wind.

The hotel sits in a convenient spot and the staff were courteous, but the place feels flat and the pillows are thin and uncomfortable. Rooms are poorly decorated, showers have weak water pressure, and the staff seem distant and inattentive. Breakfast was disappointing—just cheap white bread, limited options, tiny portions, watered‑down orange/apple juice, and subpar coffee. The garden looks neglected, with broken decking, old shabby furniture, and overall a lack of care.

I stayed in 2024 and the hotel clearly needed a serious upgrade, but Wow has been beautifully upgraded. I loved the room and bathroom, though the ironing board and vacuum cleaner were left in the hallway instead of a cupboard. Breakfast left a lot to be desired: only cereal, orange juice, and coffee were offered; when I asked for a cooked breakfast I was told all they had were eggs. Language was a bit of a problem, but the curry the previous night was delicious. The main issue was the lack of breakfast options.
