The welcome was very good, the bed comfortable with plenty of pillows, the shower worked well, and the blackout curtains were good. Unfortunately, being on Via dei Laterani means the room was quite noisy early in the morning, and the room was a bit small.

This spot is only 100 yards from the Coliseum in the heart of Rome, so the price matches that; a small breakfast café is next door, but a much better café/restaurant two doors over has an air‑conditioned rooftop dining area, which is a must in Rome in summer. I can’t think of any realistic improvements – there’s no point adding a hotel restaurant when there are plenty nearby. One thing that needs improvement is the taxi service; although taxis are metered, drivers usually try to charge a set fee (I couldn’t guess why).
