The Robin Hood Inn was in a perfect spot for us, walking along Hadrian’s Wall. We stayed in the garden chalets for the night. The concept was great, but we all agreed they weren’t very clean. Carpets hadn’t been vacuumed, and there was dust under the beds…

The location of this hotel is excellent, right on Hadrian’s Wall. The fact that there’s also a restaurant on site is pleasant after a long day of walking. The hotel has had many visitors and could use a refresh. The food was okay and reasonably priced, but it wasn’t the best place we ate. It seemed especially in the morning that there was too much mise en place.

It was convenient for our walk along Hadrian’s Wall. The wooden cabin was well furnished, had an efficient heating system, and offered a view over a horse paddock. The wet room was cold, uninviting, quite grimy, and had a permanent puddle of water. The base of the cabin door was warped, creating a gap when closed. Although the gap was helpfully filled with foam by the bar manager, the cabin is not the standard I would expect for the cost we paid. Ironically, this was the only property we paid an additional £10 charge for my dog on the entire route!
