The room was comfortable, and having a kitchen was a pleasant surprise. The bed was good. The host answered questions quickly and brought a fan, which was great for the heat. He offered a soft blanket and the duvet was in the cupboard – I would have liked a flat sheet to put between it and me. There were no bad smells, and the room was well lit. The kettle and drink supplies were in the room, the TV was there (I didn’t use it), and the wardrobe had plenty of storage for longer stays. The shower was excellent and better than the one at home. However, mold was on the kitchen baseboards and there were stains on the bedroom door and bedside table, as if coffee had spilled, which made it feel less clean. I couldn’t open, close, or adjust the bedroom blind, so it was very bright in the morning. Someone left a key in the front door at 11:30 pm, which made me feel unsafe. The bathroom window was broken – the external side of the double glazing was fine, but combined with wires sticking out of the bedroom wall, it made me uneasy about the safety of the area and building. The letterbox on the door kept flapping and making noise. The oven needs gloves and at least one more tray to use it more easily.
