I’d recommend staying in a seaside house instead of a typical hotel room; it’s unique for those who don’t own a boat and feels great—no seasickness either. The exclusive spot inside the marina gives plenty of peace, with a reserved parking spot right in front of the houseboat, making luggage transport easy. The accommodation truly has everything: functional kitchen, large fridge, air conditioning, perfect shower and bathroom, well‑kept indoor and outdoor spaces with tables, chairs, and a deck chair on top where you can sunbathe without going to the beach. Waking up to sunrise through the portholes, spending afternoons by the water, watching the nighttime view of moored boats and the illuminated wheel was truly enjoyable! We didn’t use it, but the organization offers free bicycles, and there’s a laundry service in the marina. If you want to stay on the house, you can have breakfast or nearby food delivered; if you don’t want to stray far, the harbor has restaurants, bars, and direct beach access. The downside is that if you’re looking for a relaxing vacation, it’s a bit off the main promenade and many shops, a point that flips on weekends when music from the other side of the harbor starts at 21.30 and lasts until 04.30—this wasn’t a problem for me but could disturb light sleepers. Other accommodations are closer than it seems, but there are no major privacy issues. Aside from that, I repeat: it’s an experience worth doing!

The marina itself has excellent facilities: bar, restaurant, laundry, and access to a safe beach. The houseboat matches the photos. Bikes are included, but no helmet. Linens change every 3 days, though cleaning isn’t included. Air con. A 30‑minute walk to the historic centre, trains, and buses. Great transport links. The houseboat is close to the neighboring one, so you have to keep curtains closed because the glass isn’t opaque. You can’t use your own toiletries—this should be noted on the website to avoid extra luggage fees. No hair conditioner is provided. Linens change only twice in 14 days despite reminders, and you must clean areas and remove rubbish. A spare bag and cleaning tools are supplied. The lounge seating area isn’t comfortable and space is limited. I wasn’t told about the open‑air DJ club behind the houseboats, called Coconut, which is very loud from 21.30 to 04.30. The marina’s website asks guests to respect quiet hours in the afternoon and at night, but there was no support from the on‑site team. If you want a nightlife holiday then it’s ideal. Don’t expect a peaceful holiday.

Staying right on the sea gave us a unique experience and the sunset was breathtaking. The only downside was not being able to swim and having to endure the heat; a small pool would have made it perfect.

The houseboat was spotless and meticulously maintained, with interior spaces cleverly designed so even five people could move around comfortably; the bathroom works surprisingly well for a boat and the beds offered excellent sleep. The private on‑site parking was very convenient, as was the handy bike service for guests. The kitchen was fully equipped with a large fridge, microwave, kettle and coffee machine. A special thanks goes to Sabrina, whose kindness and friendliness were consistently outstanding.
