The room was spacious, clean, and the air conditioning worked great with no mosquitoes. I read that a third of the wardrobe contains clothes, but who needs a six‑door wardrobe on vacation? The area is very quiet and the host greeted me warmly. However, the location is inconvenient both on foot and by car; the building sits on a hill only reachable by very tight, steep turns or a long, dirty, dark staircase. If you’re not in great shape, especially in summer, it becomes a nightmare. Parking is another issue: it’s almost only available during business hours (when you’re expected to be out) and maneuvering is a challenge even for a small car. The online automatic access system backfired when the morning of my check‑out the automatic button to lift the bar didn’t work, preventing me from leaving. I tried calling the host nonstop for half an hour (from 8:15 to 8:45) with no response. To avoid losing a workday, I had to return, re‑unpack, climb back up to the room, and retrieve the remote to unlock myself. The absurd part? Not knowing where to leave it, I sent it back at my own expense the next day (no refund). Instead of apologizing for the inconvenience, the host bombarded me with messages, annoyed that I hadn’t waited until 10:00 (her working time) to open it. Expecting a guest to be locked in the house for hours waiting for their convenience is unacceptable. Prepare for an unreasonable, intrusive host who isn’t shy about sending messages to pressure guests and alter unliked reviews. The listing description is inaccurate: 1) It says “private bathroom” when there isn’t one. 2) It never states that this is the host’s permanent home (where friends frequently visit). 3) There’s a strong, persistent smoke smell (not cigarette smoke).

The place is great, with a well‑stocked kitchen, a huge bedroom and bathroom, and a washing machine was amazing. There’s a cute little balcony to dry clothes like the locals do. Parking was a bit scary, with tiny spots and not much room to turn around, so if you’re hiring a car, pick the smallest one available!

The accommodation was comfortable and the room was very spacious. Nothing else to comment.

After completing check‑in, the host called to ask if the entry code worked. The place was pre‑heated, cozy, and very quiet. Unfortunately, in Genoa it’s not easy to find a parking spot with a Peugeot Boxer, so I couldn’t use the private parking.
