“Very nice stay. Exceeded expectations.”
Everything was great, and nothing was lacking.
I was impressed by the authentic Japanese hospitality, especially the private onsen that required a reservation, and the traditional Japanese meals were excellent. I expected the hotel to be pricier; perhaps the gloomy, rainy weather in Gora at the time of my visit dampened the overall experience. The kids’ room arrived empty, so we had to pull the toys out of the closet and set everything up for the evening, which felt a bit less family‑friendly.
The place is beautiful and clean, the onsen is nice and tidy (watch out for tattoos), the room has a small hot water tub that looks great, and the in‑room massage service was highly appreciated. The food is excellent for both dinner and breakfast. It’s just a short walk from Gora station, so I definitely recommend it!
Everything was perfect—the food, the room with a hot water bath, and everything else. Nothing to complain about.
“The should be more real with the pictures”
I picked this spot to celebrate my birthday, booked one night, and that was smart because the next day I could move to a nicer place. When I checked in, the front‑desk lady was sweet and polite. I was exhausted and arrived two hours before check‑in time, just sitting and trying to order a cup of tea when another staff member told me it was closed at the moment (making tea doesn’t require many steps, but I understood). She didn’t even offer a glass of water. She looked irritated, so I left the property and came back around 5:00 PM. They welcomed you with low‑quality snacks, but the intention is all that matters. I booked the best room available at the time for $189 USD because it was my birthday and I wanted to treat myself. The bathroom layout is weird: right next to the toilet where you sit, close to your face, there is a urinal (men’s toilet) and it smells. It was really unpleasant to sit there because of the bad odor. The sink for washing hands is out in the bedroom next to the bed, with no sink near the toilet. The shower is also in a completely different part of the room, which is very inconvenient. The pictures of the room show what the space and view look like, which isn’t an outright lie, but it hides the harsh reality behind it. The private onsen was dirty, extremely hot, and covered with wooden boards to protect it from dirt, I suppose. I had to remove the boards myself before trying to enter, and the water was dirty anyway. Trying to add cold water was impossible because the valve was broken, and turning it on caused water to leak all over the floor. The service at the restaurant was okay. The lady serving was shy or not in a mood to talk. They served me water only once and never refilled my glass. The food was really good—maybe not suited for everybody, but I guess it was very creative and tasty.
