The first part of my stay was uneventful. Unfortunately, the incident on the final evening and the hotel’s subsequent handling of my complaint completely overshadowed this. On my final evening, I found a live scorpion in the bathroom. I reported it immediately and waited at reception for approximately 30 minutes. The receptionist was unable to reach the management, no alternative room was available, and nobody offered to remove the animal or inspect the room. I was left without any practical solution and had to leave the hotel early and book alternative accommodation at short notice for EUR 180. What I find particularly unacceptable is the hotel’s response afterwards. Instead of acknowledging the complete lack of assistance that evening, the management repeatedly downplayed the incident by stating that the scorpion was harmless and that such animals can enter the hotel because it is located near a mountain. The hotel offered only EUR 60 and has not paid even this amount to date, despite extensive written correspondence. As a frequent traveller and Genius Level 3 member, I have rarely experienced such dismissive and unprofessional complaint handling. I will not stay at this hotel again

The parking was good, but the rooms were neither nice nor clean.

The hotel had a spacious outdoor area and a pool for a city hotel, plenty of beds around the pool, and live music in the evenings; however, we found the dinner mediocre and it was a bit farther from Riva's center than we expected, which felt a little too far for us.
