Mother's Place Nimala

The location is excellent—right on the first line by the sea with private sun loungers. The host was very friendly and responsive. There’s also a private pool and a beach bar that belongs to the property, which is very convenient. The area isn’t overcrowded, so it’s quiet and relaxing. The hotel has an old interior, and the rooms could use renovation. Not all rooms have mosquito nets over the beds, which can be inconvenient. The staff also didn’t seem very eager to take out the trash or clean the rooms regularly.

The location was spot‑on and the beds were genuinely comfortable. We stayed for 10 nights and had to clean once, even though they changed the sheets. There were many shortcomings. With a few simple fixes the place could become quite pleasant, but it seemed like nobody cared.

Right on the beach, the staff were very helpful after the change of ownership. Too many mosquito‑repellent plugs and scented sachets, which overwhelmed my nose with artificial smells; I just had to lay them out before the room.

The spot at Nimala‑Beach was excellent, the AC worked well, and the chemical‑free pool was the best there—quiet surroundings. The setup was bare‑bones, a toilet glass broke on day 2, we stayed 8 nights and no waste was collected. The fridge was heavily iced on level 8 (only 2 beer cans from the host inside). Because my meds couldn’t be frozen I had to put them on level 3, and the room flooded. Showers were usually cold. Breakfast, served by G‑Level, was a struggle and sparse; no kettle, no mugs in the room. The price was horrendous! A family bereavement made the atmosphere bleak. Everything felt old‑fashioned and dusty. Not recommended.
