“The best affordable hotel out of many in Izmir”
The hotel is quiet and clean, far from busy streets, and offers great value. We requested two rooms away from traffic noise and were given them; the windows face a hill with an old castle and a distant train station, keeping noise low. Rooms were truly non‑smoking as advertised, a rarity in many countries. Staff were helpful, friendly, and caring. The buffet breakfast had a variety of hot and cold dishes, and the A/C, fridge, and internet worked well. The slippers were higher quality than usual. The location is excellent – a one‑minute walk to the metro and train station, with trains to Denizli near the famous Pamukkale. A large park is nearby, and the sea is a 15‑minute walk from the city centre. The downside: when someone smoked in the hallway, smoke seeped into my room through the door slit. Breakfast was fine for locals but not in a European style – there were olives, marinated items, and plenty of salad components, but no fruit, and only tea was offered, no coffee or juice. The hotel entrance is a 100‑meter alley with cars parked on both sides, making the walk narrow and shared with passing vehicles – a common situation in Turkey and some other countries, but worth it for the quiet sleep it provides compared to hotels with easy entrances on busy streets.
