The kitchen didn’t have a microwave or any way to heat up a snack, contrary to what the listing promised. It was acceptable for a short visit though.

Staying here feels more like living in a converted industrial loft than a typical hotel—the huge building and lively common areas give Winterthur a cool, creative feel, and cheap parking is available in hall 53 nearby. The rooms themselves are a bit unconventional: narrow, basic beds, a shared kitchen with no running water, a fridge split into compartments and no microwave, plus the drainage is slow.

The hotel is set in a special senior‑citizen community space, with a nice café and shop on the ground floor that added a pleasant local touch. The only downside was the distance from the train station—a bit of a walk, but we knew that before arriving.
