The building was brand‑new, spotless and easy to reach, but I never got a chance to meet the hosts in person to thank them.

The availability was superb and my room was handed over early; it was immaculate and tidy, parking was free, and the Wi‑Fi was excellent—nothing to complain about.

The manager was friendly, and the room was clean and modern.

During a hiking trip on Sardinia we booked a 15 sqm double room for one night in early June at €65 and were fairly satisfied with its comfort and cleanliness. Check‑in was officially from 14:00 to 20:00, but the self‑check‑in made a later arrival hassle‑free. Note that check‑out is at 10:00. The mini room sits in a newly built block across the busy “Via Repubblica” main road, with a northern window overlooking the street and hospital park trees; walking to the old town centre takes about 20 minutes (1.5 km). On the ground floor are shops “Caddys” and “Prenatal”. The biggest nearby perk is the Coop Supermarket (open 8‑20, 8:30‑13:30 on Sunday) just a minute’s walk on Via Aosta. Directly in front of the building is a City Bus stop for lines 1, 2, 9, and the ARST train station with daily links to Macomer is 500 m east of the guest room. On arrival we got an automatic email at 13:16 in Italian saying the room was ready; no owner’s name was ever mentioned, so it felt like an anonymous business and we never saw the owner. The check‑in description was a bit misleading: the front door had a ring button with the apartment name, but no one was there. We only saw the cleaning lady at departure at 10:00. A six‑digit code opens the front door, but the instructions to find the correct room on the second floor (lift or 47 stairs) of house No. 39 were not fully clear. A four‑digit code was needed to open a key box to grab a key to access the corridor, where another door led to another guest room. The advertised room is essentially a small split‑off piece of a full flat; all other rooms on the floor appear to be long‑term rentals to private families. By September 2026 they rented out a slightly larger room (18 sqm) for €70. Our booked room had a 2.90 m height, good air‑conditioning, three towels per guest, a 160 cm wide double bed with comfortable white covers and pillows, 0.5 l mineral water in the fridge for free, and a 42’’ flat‑screen TV. The wide desk (2.60 × 0.55 m) was handy for personal items. The hot water kettle with four tea bags and four ceramic cups was a nice touch, and there was even a Lavazza coffee machine with two capsules for guests. At €65 that was a great price for all those amenities. All furniture was modern and new, so it felt like a city stay rather than typical Sardinian style. The bathroom (no window) measured 2.2 × 1.3 m, with a 65 × 85 cm shower cabin and bidet; shower gel (two 20 ml bottles) and a small hand soap were provided. The sink was small, but the mirror was stylish with backlight. The ARST bus company offers many connections from the bus station (5 minutes walk), including a free WC and ticket machine. Key bus lines for hikers go to the mountain village Oliena, where tours to the Dolomite‑like peaks Monte Corrasi (1463 m) and Punta Sos Nidos (1348 m) start, and to Orgosolo, where routes to Monte Novo San Giovanni (1316 m) begin. A direct bus line to the beaches of Cala Gonone via Dorgali is also available. To Cagliari it is recommended to take the route through the Gennargentu mountains via Laconi and Isili to see even more of the landscape.
