The area is gorgeous with a view of the vineyards. It feels a bit old‑fashioned, but everything else is present. The Wi‑Fi is terrible.

The breakfast was a perfect little German‑style spread that I love, everything fresh and well presented, and the owner was an absolute joy, making sure you had everything you wanted – perfect service! As expected from a typical German pension, the room was spartan, but the cleanliness was immaculate. I didn’t have time to explore, but there’s a small “water castle” in the village that looks like a nice little adventure – my local friends said the café there is “THE” place to have a slice of Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte (Black Forest Cherry Torte). It’s an excellent spot to hike or bike from. The only suggestion is for them to invest in new towels, long overdue for replacement. The small village below has only one dining option, which is absolutely excellent, but other options require a 10+ minute drive.
