It’s easy to reach by bus, the place itself is stunning, and the room was incredibly spacious and comfortable. The staff were very polite and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The outdoor onsen was breathtaking and exactly what we needed after a long day of exploring. Their breakfasts and dinners were among the tastiest meals we’ve had in Japan, with plenty of fabulously crafted items for each meal. I can’t recommend this place enough.

I scored it 10.0/10: the room was tidy and every staff member was friendly. Both breakfast and dinner were solid, but dinner really stood out—someone who normally dislikes fish ended up loving it. The nearby walking trail and the split outdoor and indoor hot springs were a bonus, and it was convenient that extra charges like the bath fee or drinks at dinner could be paid by card. I’d definitely return for a family trip.

I gave it an 8.0/10 because the food was disappointing—vegetarian options were almost nonexistent, and even the meat dishes felt odd, like having fish and sushi for breakfast, which the staff were reluctant to serve. The price didn’t match the quality, making it hard to justify the cost.

“A highlight of our trip, we recommend this to all our friends and family.”

I rated it 9.0/10. One of the best parts of our trip was staying at Senkyoro, where we received room‑service meals in traditional ryokan style, made us feel like royalty, and the staff were outstanding. The kaiseki dishes were delicious. The only downside was that the ryokan, which has been around since the 1800s, shows some aging—especially the onsens, which were a bit worn out.
