“Great all round”

The hosts were clean, lovely, and the facilities were great; there was a brief issue with the aircon, which was fixed promptly. I liked everything about it.

“Good value for money and clean, but property may need some fogging to control its mosquitoes.”

Overall, it’s good value for money. I chose Matra because it’s directly beside my favourite yoga spot (Pranava yoga) and Nyomnyom cafe, where guests get a 5% discount—just ask for it. The place is very clean, and staff provide room cleaning and a towel change every two days. They have limited check‑in time, so if you arrive late at night, message them via WhatsApp the day before to arrange it. The staff are generally friendly and welcoming. However, the room had an incredible number of mosquitoes—far more than other guesthouses I’ve stayed at in Bali. The room is air‑conditioned and I kept the bathroom door shut, yet there were no visible gaps or holes except in the bathroom. Mosquitoes rested on the net and I spent about 30 minutes each night hunting them before sleep; on the day I turned off the AC for a while, I killed around 20 mosquitoes, yet I didn’t get bitten—still, the sheer number freaked me out. Make sure to tuck the net under the bed for safety. The room is also a bit dark, as it’s a ground‑floor inward room looking toward the corridor.

“Limpio y cómodo”

The rooms were spotless and roomy, and the staff were very friendly. The kitchen, however, was very basic and didn’t allow for cooking or even preparing simple meals.
