I couldn’t eat anywhere; the restaurant was closed. The mattress was awful, and I spent half the night sleeping on a chair that was in the room.

The room was spotless, very pretty and spacious, and the bathroom matched that standard, surpassing my expectations. I had arranged a taxi pickup to the airport for the next morning through the reception, but at the scheduled time there was no taxi and no staff available to help, as it was too early. The village is tiny and remote, so no taxi services appeared online. After a frantic hunt for the hotel’s phone number—remembering I’d booked online—I finally reached a mobile number and woke up an unfortunate person, unsure if they were the owner or manager, who then arranged another taxi for me.

The rooms were beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The hotel advertised a restaurant just one minute away, but there were actually no restaurants or other eating spots nearby. We had to travel to Nairn for food, and a sign outside Star Inn Rooms advertised food. Breakfast wasn’t available either. I wouldn’t have booked here if there were no dining options.
