Very friendly staff, whether the owner or service employees. The hotel is very idyllic and located in a quiet spot. The buffet area is a bit small, and the line at the coffee machine blocks half of the buffet.

The location looks nice. The small bathroom was cramped, and the buffet offered too little variety, especially for gluten‑free options.

We got a prairie‑side room with a delivery view (quiet at night, just close the window to keep out the delivery trucks) that included spa and pool access plus half‑board. The hotel offers free parking, the food is delicious, the breakfast buffet is varied and homemade, and dinner is sumptuous and refined – definitely worth recommending. Drinks are reasonably priced and the waitresses were very friendly. There’s no air‑conditioning (it’s an eco‑hotel that tries to protect the environment), but that isn’t a problem if you leave the window open; the night air stays cool in the mountains. On the second dinner night the service was a bit less attentive than the first and we waited a little longer, and wasps made it impossible to enjoy the large terrace for breakfast or dinner – a real pity. Otherwise it remains a hotel we love.

The hotel sits 5‑8 minutes on foot from the Hopfensee shore in a quiet spot with superb views of the lake and distant mountains. Its shared areas and the spacious, nicely divided garden create a very peaceful atmosphere. The outdoor pool is unique, fed by natural (but cold) stream water. Nearby attractions like Schloss Neuschwanstein and Schloss Hohenschwangau are easy to reach, and with a car you can get to farther sights within 0.5‑1 hour. The rooms are impeccably clean, well equipped, and the beds are extremely comfortable. Parking is excellent in the covered indoor garage, so it’s worth reserving in advance. The staff are exceptionally helpful and courteous. Opting for half‑board is advisable because the village’s few restaurants get crowded in high season and there’s no à‑la‑carte dining at the hotel. Breakfast is varied and of high quality, with excellent coffee, and the multi‑course dinner is generous and flavorful, making the complaints of some previous guests hard to understand. The only downside is the lack of air‑conditioning, which becomes noticeable on increasingly hot summer days.

The location, the silence, and the equipment are great. The staff are not very friendly with the French, and it’s very complicated to get an invoice. There is no air conditioning.
