“Tolle Unterkunft direkt am Hafen”
We really enjoyed the Mäder beach cottage, so much that we extended our stay by one night on the spot. The double room we booked on the first floor matched the photos on Booking. It’s a bit small, but the large balcony overlooking the little harbor of Unteruhldingen mattered more to me than the room size. Inside, there’s a small wardrobe, a table with two chairs, and a compact kitchenette with a lower cabinet, fridge, sink, and two hanging cabinets. A Dolce Gusto coffee machine, an egg cooker, a toaster, a kettle, and enough dishes and cutlery for two were provided. Dish soap, a sponge, a dishcloth, and a drying rack were also available. The room was very clean upon arrival. There were plenty of towels for our stay. The shower is great with good water pressure. The beds are comfortable, and we slept very well. Trash disposal is well organized and practical. A parking spot right at the property (my spot was in a duplex garage) was important to me. The location is fantastic, just a few steps from the ferry terminal that offers trips to several Lake Constance ports. The stilt houses and natural beach are also nearby. Thanks to the nice weather, we even swam in Lake Constance in October. Next to the cottage is a pub and a good restaurant, and there are many other venues within walking distance. I also liked the small shop just around the corner, open until 10 pm (cash‑only) where you can find everything you need, including fresh rolls. Unteruhldingen is a lovely little town, and it’s quick to reach Meersburg from there. If I return to Lake Constance, I’ll book this place again.
Everything was great. The bathroom is small, but that wasn’t an issue for us. Those who want more kitchen facilities (e.g., cooking) should book an apartment instead of a room. One suggestion: since evenings can get chilly on the balcony in autumn, wool blankets would be nice.
