On the coast with a view of the island landscape (short distance), naturally still some drive to Karatsu or even Fukuoka. The room is very large with two big, very comfortable beds and a luxurious shower (plus the onsen). The highlight is the Kaiseki dinner menu and the equally lavish breakfast. It has its price, but it’s worth it. In the very nice room, there is no good way to set up a laptop.

When I booked online, the site advertised top‑quality breakfast and dinner but didn’t clearly state that the price didn’t include meals. On the day of arrival the quoted rate was already higher than the usual price that includes meals, and I was only told at check‑in that meals weren’t included. There were no nearby restaurants, so the staff helped me find a supermarket where I bought a simple dinner and agreed to pay extra for breakfast the next day. Afterward I checked the website again and saw that they had added a note and updated the price, but that approach is unacceptable to me.

The ocean view is gorgeous and the room is surprisingly spacious, especially the tatami room. If you’re heading to Kagoshima’s Karatsu, this place is a must‑visit. The dinner was absolutely delicious, and the area is full of marine attractions that make it even more appealing.
