The owner was very friendly and helpful. The private onsen was superb and a bonus you don’t usually find at this price. The location is a comfortable walking distance to the beach, dive shops, and the bus stop. Many amenities were also provided. The nearest 7‑Eleven is a 30‑minute walk from the pension, which could be a hassle since most restaurants close at 5 pm.

A tiny pension tucked into the village, a bit hidden but still comfortable if you’re staying nearby. The owner is very friendly, speaks little English but makes an effort to understand you. There’s a common lounge where they serve coffee, tea, water, and free pastries for breakfast, plus a fridge for your own items. Parking is free for car‑owners and the beach is a five‑minute walk away. The room is spacious, the bed a bit firm but still quite comfy. The bathroom is small yet fully equipped. The only drawback is that the rooms are on the second floor with no elevator, so you’ll have to carry luggage up by hand.

I had my first visit to Izu and this pension turned out to be the perfect pick. It sits in a pristine, almost magical spot where the countryside, mountains, and sea blend together. The owner is incredibly kind and friendly. I enjoyed the gentle background music that played all day and the thoughtful offer of free snacks.
