“Stylische Holzhütte mitten in der Natur”
The Mountain Eco Shelters are arranged like a small village of block huts and are wonderfully located in Parque Ecologico do Funchal. There is plenty of space between the huts, so you get a lot of quiet and privacy. We really enjoyed the view from our hut directly onto the trees and nature. The huts are very nice and thoughtfully furnished. The bed was comfortable, and the kitchenette was well equipped. Dioclecio, the manager of the Mountain Eco Shelters, was very friendly, helpful, and always reachable. We felt very at home here and would come back. On the lower living level there were no shelves or hooks for coats and luggage, and in the kitchen area hooks for towels would have been ideal. Unfortunately the whole village is quite brightly lit at night, and we were looking forward to the starry sky. The bright outdoor lamp directly in front of our hut disturbed us when stargazing. As an addendum, at the time we were there (late August) it was extremely windy from late afternoon into the night, so it was also cold.
