A beautiful spot away from the bustle, the hotel sits in a charming, authentic village; the drive is a bit of a challenge, but if you plan ahead with Google Maps you can manage it calmly. We dined on the terrace, enjoyed the view, and had a satisfying breakfast. The basic room was fine for a single night, though for a longer stay I’d opt for a larger room with a view.

The welcome was warm, the comfort simple, and the room spotlessly clean. The terrace offers a lovely view of Lake Como, which explains the hotel’s name. Getting there isn’t easy because the 7 km stretch is winding and narrow. The village has only 195 residents and is far from shops, but there is an ATM, a deli, a post office, and a small grocery.
