“Das Royal Cliff Grand Hotel hat uns herzlich umarmt verzaubert.”
The room featured a balcony with a sea view of Kho Larn, which we enjoyed lying on the lounge chairs. The bathroom was roomy and the shower was huge. The room also had a table with two chairs, a sofa seat, a minibar, and water bottles were refilled daily and included in the room rate. A cookie jar and fruit plate were provided weekly. We had a private beach with palm trees and several fixed sunshade roofs (instead of umbrellas) with a rack all around and two lounge chairs each. At the Breezeo restaurant, right on the beach, we could order drinks and snacks via an app (Scancode) and they arrived after a few minutes. The beach was clean, and because we were there in September it wasn’t crowded—sometimes we were alone. Breakfast was international; everything you could wish for was available—fruits, muesli, yogurt, pastries with jam, chicken curry, Pad Thai noodles, soups, scrambled eggs, etc.—no wish left unfulfilled! The toilet paper could have been higher quality. Like all hotels, the bathrooms lack enough hanging spots. The wardrobe was too small for two people’s clothes for two weeks, and, as in every other hotel, there were too few hangers. There was also no place to store the second suitcase when unpacking. The beds were too hard for us, probably because we’re used to a waterbed at home.
