The personal conversations and meals were great; Helen cooked for us every night and met all our requests. She cooks very well and the prices were reasonable. The bed, however, was relatively narrow.

The hostess took good care of me and the breakfast was huge. She also helped with my luggage that arrived late because the airline had lost it on the day I arrived. The location is in the north of Stornoway, so you need a car to reach shops or restaurants. I received useful advice about a local restaurant and a handy map of the islands. The hostess might have been a bit more forthcoming with tourism tips and directions, but she was probably being discreet.

The host was very friendly and competent, and the private bathroom was large with a big shower. She offered a dinner she cooked on the first night, which was delicious. The setting is quiet, though the city and restaurants are not within walking distance. Parking is good. The room had bathrobes. Breakfast featured tasty porridge. Overall, a definite recommendation. The only downside was the lack of a few fruits/fruit for breakfast.

The two nights at Lathamor were fantastic, one of the best stops on our Hebrides trip. It’s a family‑run B&B that blends the warmth of a true Scottish home with exceptional hospitality. Helen, the host, is simply perfect: welcoming, kind, and helpful—nothing is too much for her. She sat with us to help plan our days and gave invaluable island tips. Her genuine welcome turns a simple stay into an unforgettable memory. The room was spotless, well‑maintained, and comfortable, with a spacious bathroom and excellent shower. Absolute silence, a comfy bed, and everything needed for a good rest. The common lounge is a nice spot to relax after a day out. Special shout‑out for the food: breakfast is excellent with a wide selection, and the dinner made with local produce was a real surprise. Helen is an excellent cook, and her passion shows. Packed lunches for hikes are convenient. The location, just outside Stornoway, is quiet and ideal as a base to explore Lewis—from the Callanish Standing Stones to the island’s beaches—with the airport and town centre minutes away. Free parking is very convenient. This stay won us over in every way. We’d return without hesitation. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Lewis!
