The location is decent, but the value for money is poor; charging £300 a night, we expected more in terms of quality and size, especially when compared to hotels we’ve stayed in at Central London and luxury places in Chester.

The cabin was very spacious with nice covered outdoor seating, a clean hot tub, and a quiet spot on the edge of York. The hot tub had a lot of chloride, the kitchen pans were terrible, and the bathroom was a bit smelly. We tried to contact staff via chat and SMS about minor issues like the PFAS residues on the pans, but received no replies, hoping this will prompt improvements for future guests.

Everything you could possibly need was available, and the bus stop to town was so close it was almost a walk.

The spot was gorgeous and tranquil, just a short bus ride to York; the facilities hit 10/10, the hot tub and sauna were great, the lodge was spotless, the beds were comfy and I slept like a log, so I didn’t want to leave; my teenage daughter loved every minute too, so I’ll definitely come back.
