A charming spot, rooms are simple but clean and comfortable, the staff is kind and helpful, breakfast is great, the homemade cakes are exquisite, and the dogs are fantastic.

The welcome, the location, and the sunsets were wonderful. It was a shame I couldn’t try Ennio’s cooking.

Gaia and Riccardo here, we spent ten days at SetterHouse in August. We stumbled upon it while looking for a countryside agriturismo, and the photos of their dogs convinced us right away – it turned out to be a wonderful find. The agriturismo sits just below the village of Trevi, in a completely tranquil area that offers a stunning view, especially at sunset. Near the entrance are several chalets; we stayed in one of them, which was very cozy and intimate. There’s also a parking spot for our car. We were greeted by a herd of wagging tails and by Eleonora and Ennio, two amazing, friendly, and very helpful hosts. They make sure nothing is missing and pay close attention to every guest’s requests. Ennio also handles the food; every morning he bakes several cakes for breakfast, and in the evening you can dine at their restaurant by booking in advance. We ate the best Strangozzi al tartufo of our vacation there, a fixed menu dish (and thank goodness!). We recommend trying every meat dish on the menu – Ennio really knows how to cook them (Emily, one of the golden retrievers, confirms 😂). Dinner and breakfast are served on the terrace, where you can enjoy the scenery with the agriturismo’s dogs and the guests’ dogs. Every morning (really at any time possible) we couldn’t wait to sit down and pet them all, especially the three that became our favorites: Gioppino, Nocciola, and Ariel, two golden retrievers and a setter, the smallest of them all. We met lovely people, beautiful dogs, and spent a good part of our holiday with them – after all, among dog lovers, you just get along!

I really liked the terrace where breakfast is served, with a breathtaking view of the valley. Unfortunately, traveling by bike, we had to walk uphill to the center of Trevi for dinner, and on the way back we had to use a front pile because we were completely in the dark. Anyway, the place deserves it and the managers are very courteous.
