The room was spacious and well-equipped, and the overall impression of the hotel and its location was great. I wish there were more gluten‑free options and the parking was quite tight.

The rooms were scorching hot, and the air‑conditioners didn’t work.

The location is good, the décor is modern and the place is clean. However, the windows are inside the building, so there’s no natural light.

The location, price, comfort and cleanliness were all solid. The breakfast bread selection was weak.

The hotel sits in a historic building that used to be the Slávia café, similar to the Slávia café near the National Theatre in Prague, and the setting is breathtaking. It’s right in the main square of Košice, close to St. Elizabeth’s Cathedral, opposite the theatre, and near the singing fountain—just a poem in motion. I’m fascinated. The only small gripe is that breakfast didn’t seem to accommodate people with food intolerances; for example, I can’t have citrus, so I had to buy a different juice than orange or grapefruit. I’ve never had this issue elsewhere in the world (I have a lot of projects). It’s not about a few euros, but it did disrupt the idyllic vibe of an otherwise perfect stay. I’ll be back in a few days to see how the quality control and improvement system actually works. I firmly believe it does.
