“Lessons learned.”
The place cost $70 to stay in a ruin, had no fan, was littered with hurricane debris, and the road up to it was a 2‑labe goat path.

The concept was interesting, but there was no fan for comfort. The place was covered in dirty rat poop, not cleaned or swept. The outside looked bad and the inside was nasty—do not recommend.

The house was very spacious with plenty of room in the rooms. It sits on a hill, so it’s always pleasantly cool and lightly breezy. The sea view is impressively beautiful. The walk to the beach isn’t far, and our favorite breakfast café (Smurf) was right next door. Cleanliness was perfectly adequate; we saw no signs of pests or anything else over the two weeks. There are also mosquito nets on the windows. Jacob, the owner, was very helpful, arranged a great contact for a Black‑River safari, let us use the washing machine on a special basis, and so on. A year ago, a hurricane hit Treasure Beach and apparently destroyed a lot in Welcoming Vibes. As a result, the house looks somewhat unfinished in parts, especially on the upper floors and at the very bottom where the clothesline and heating are. Since we stayed on the ground floor, that didn’t affect us. Also, the bathroom in the bedroom is glazed (partly with a matte privacy screen). We used the room as a couple and left each other the room alone to allow more privacy when showering and using the toilet. That’s possible thanks to the nice and spacious common areas.

I told the host how far I was traveling from, and he was considerate enough to recommend another location he owns, and it was right on the beach. Definitely a green flag move. The space was clean and spacious, modern and came with most amenities an Airbnb would have. I definitely recommend this host.

No breakfast was offered, but otherwise the stay was fine.
