I love Quinta da Recochina; the peace and quiet the house and surrounding area provide are excellent. We’ve been here for a few years and always come back. Our dogs run free and happy. Thanks. The path to the Quinta is a dirt road, but it’s fine by car. On rainy days, the mowers might make it more difficult.

We stayed at Quinta da Recochina for the second time, we recommend it and intend to return. It is comforting to return to the same place where we were happy before and feel the same. The upgrade of the shower outside and the sofa bed were a plus to our experience. The location is ideal for those who want to enjoy a relaxing and renewing stay in a nature‑immersed environment. 😍 No complaints.

I can’t say what I liked because I never reached the accommodation; I think it’s about 500 m to 1 km away, I turned back and didn’t get there. First, the advertising is completely misleading. It still shows on the site as 8 km from Castro Daire’s center, but in reality it’s about 25 km away. The house is where Christ lost his boots and never came back to look for them. No GPS can get you there; it’s at the end of the world. When you’re out of options, you call the owners and they’ll pick you up on the forest road. They use a 4‑wheel motorbike because it’s the only transport that can handle that steep dirt path, meant for goats. In short, when I saw a possibility I turned back and never reached the accommodation. I’d rather pay and not use it than risk a vehicle and two lives on that path meant for extreme sports.
