Located 3.5 hours from Puerto Maldonado city, accessible by bus (1 hour) and boat (2.5 hours), the Tambopata Research Center is the only lodge inside the National Reserve of Tambopata. The hotel's location is fantastic, and the breakfast is top-notch. Unfortunately, the noise from the nearby street can be a bit of a nuisance.

This trip was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, thanks to the hotel's impeccable organisation and our amazing guide Juan. We were blown away by the incredible array of wildlife, from tapirs to macaws, and the hotel's deep connection to the Amazon rainforest.
