The hotel is pretty good for a night: a quiet location, comfortable beds, a hearty breakfast, and friendly staff. The pool is a bit small and the Grandhotel feels a little over‑the‑top.
The staff were very friendly, the beds comfortable, the room spacious, the SPA well equipped, and the pool clean and well maintained. Overall I rate the stay positively, though there were a few inconveniences. No one mentioned that the pool and SPA are closed on Sundays, neither on the hotel’s website nor elsewhere, which was a problem because we only stayed over the weekend and arrived Saturday evening, giving us just 30 minutes to swim before the area shut at 20:30. There was no air‑conditioning, and we happened to be in the hottest period, so the portable fan the staff brought did nothing to cool the room and we couldn’t keep it in the room until evening when it got cooler. Breakfasts were standard hotel fare, fine in quality, but if the breakfast ends at 9:00 and I arrive at 8:30 and there is nothing hot left, that’s a drawback. I must praise the kitchen staff, though: when I asked for scrambled eggs, they fulfilled the request and brought them to the table with bacon and sausage, which was nice.
