How guests rate the property, aspect by aspect.
The price was definitely a plus – you get a decent room for the cost. Unfortunately the nonsmoking rule isn’t enforced; the first room we were given reeked of cigarette smoke and the staff didn’t step in. After we asked for another, we had to check two more doors before finally landing on a smoke‑free room.

Not much to recommend here – the pool was completely empty, which would have stopped me from booking if I’d known. The building feels worn out, and the breakfast is just plain average, nothing special.

The staff were genuinely friendly and the breakfast offered tasty local dishes, while the room was spacious and a short walk took us to the beach and a bus route to Old Street. The gardens are lovely, but the advertised pool was closed off and the in‑room tea and coffee supplies were pretty sparse.

The hotel and its personnel are truly welcoming, making you feel at home right away. The only drawback is the internet, which crawls along slowly, though it didn’t ruin the stay for me.

We arrived by train to the East Station, then took a short taxi ride (63 yuan) to the hotel, which turned out to be solid – decent breakfast, very helpful staff, and great for a summer beach getaway. The area has a couple of tiny shops for snacks, but for a proper meal you need to cross the road and hop on bus 37 for a few stops to reach two malls with plenty of cafés.
