The room was a lovely little space with all the basics. The location was nice too, a bit out of town, but there were plenty of ways to get into the city (ebike, taxi, tuktuk, scooter).

When I arrived, they tried to give me a less comfortable room just because it was “easier for them to walk to,” which I found quite unprofessional. I had to specifically insist on getting a better room, which shouldn’t be necessary as a guest. The walls are very thin, and you can clearly hear conversations from neighboring rooms, making it hard to relax. On top of that, the guesthouse is close to a construction site, so it’s quite noisy during the day as well. Communication was also extremely difficult, as the staff don’t speak any English or other languages apart from Lao, which made even simple requests complicated. Cleanliness was below expectations, and overall it just didn’t feel worth the price.

The upstairs room was pleasant, with a terrace on the same floor. The building next to it was under construction, creating a noisy zone. The staff didn’t speak English and only communicated via smartphone. The atmosphere felt impersonal.

A good establishment, a bit over the top.

The relaxation area on the upper floor was nice. The guesthouse is run by a Chinese family that doesn’t speak English. There’s no service typical of a guesthouse (bus service, etc.). The building is under construction just 20 meters away.
