Perfectly situated in the heart of a lovely town
The staff were friendly and helpful
The room was clean and comfortable
The noise from the nearby bars and garbage trucks at night made it difficult for me to get a good night's sleep

“We had a relaxing, comfortable, carefree stay”
Right in the heart of Capitola, we had a free street parking pass. The back room was probably quieter than the front, and the bands stopped around 10 pm; there were no bands on Wednesday. The bed was comfortable, and I slept past 7 am, which is unusual for me. The staff were very helpful, arranging a Shadowbrook taxi for us to climb the steep hill—a blessing since we’d managed it before. They also found a local market that sold the coffee served at breakfast. The people were very pleasant.
“I booked a room to celebrate my sister’s birthday. We had a great time not just at the hotel but in Capitola”
The location and staff were great. The TV was dumb.
“Perfect location and great facility.”
Breakfast was good. The room was small and the toilet area a little tight, but the room was organized well and we didn’t feel squished. We were happy with our stay and would definitely return. Breakfast could be improved by offering more variety with fresh pastries and a greater variety of fruit.
“Fun stay in the cute village”
I liked that the hotel was in the village, where parking is available and you can walk everywhere. That’s also why I didn’t like it: parking was tricky when we arrived because the village was so crowded. Once traffic eased, we could park closer. It was pretty loud on Saturday night; it didn’t bother us, but it might bother lighter sleepers.
“Great location - too noisy for a good nights sleep”
The location is great, close to shopping, restaurants, and the beach. The window faced the street, which caused a lot of noise—delivery trucks stopped for restaurants at 3 am and unloaded, waking us up every night. Keep in mind the windows are open because there’s no air conditioning, so you need the window and fan on.
