Royal Atlantic Beach Resort

The place is great to stay; we’re coming back next year and can’t wait to be ocean side on the beach again. We did find two cockroaches as we were leaving—yuck!

“Overall Montauk is about being there. Royal Atlantic gives you that experience to the max!”

I enjoy the courtyard and heated pool, and the staff were friendly. The room felt refreshed and pleasant, and the ice machine worked well. Breakfast was decent, and the beach looked gorgeous with a stunning sunrise. On the downside, the courtyard’s Montauk daisies attract a lot of bees, the game room machines are mostly broken, the bar was closed, and there’s no exhaust vent in the bathroom; the window is hard to reach. Prices have risen significantly while the hotel hasn’t changed much.

“Great location”

The location was fine. It could have been cleaner, and the outside wasn’t very private. The TV didn’t work, and because it was raining we couldn’t even watch a movie 🙄

“Horrible”

The beach location and heated pool were nice, and the two‑person breakfast staff were friendly and hardworking. The property is deteriorating; it’s a mess and the staff seem indifferent to guests. We knew it was bad upon arrival, and when my husband wanted coffee, we couldn’t find packets, so I asked at the front desk and they said sorry and that I’d have to walk to a grocery store. The “ice buckets” in rooms are white plastic cleaning buckets with no lid—like car cleaning buckets, which is gross and weird. On our anniversary, the last night a group checked into the room next to us late at night and stayed partying until 4 am. I called but was told in the morning that no one was available after midnight. We got no sleep and only received an apology. I want a refund. Don’t stay here; it’s not worth the money.
