How guests rate the property, aspect by aspect.
The hotel was really cozy and friendly, and the staff knew me and wanted to sort everything out. Transfers were arranged perfectly and they organized a bunch of snorkeling activities. The only downside was that the reception wasn’t always immediately reachable.

I was blown away by the vibe at Perla – the pool was great, the place felt super laid‑back, and the snorkeling and diving tours were fantastic. We saw a whale shark, nurse sharks, manta rays, turtles, and more – absolutely amazing! The hotel sits right in the center of the Maldives with nice restaurants nearby, which made our dive‑focused trip even better. We’ll definitely return to Perla if we head back to Dhanketi.

We enjoyed our stay overall, but the property clearly looks older than its 4‑star rating suggests. It has a lot of potential that feels underused right now. In Europe it would probably be seen more as a guest house than a full‑service hotel. Still, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant food was enjoyable. Breakfast was basic, which seems to be the norm in the Maldives. The photos on Booking don’t match the current state – the upper terrace had no chairs or umbrellas and was unusable, the bathroom felt neglected with moldy silicone, and the bed linen and towels seemed unwashed. Despite these issues, the friendly atmosphere and service kept the experience positive, and with a few improvements it could truly live up to its potential.

Rustic maldavian accomodation in centre of island. Easy to reach all amenities. The only hotel with a pool on the island. Hotel staff were lovely. The location is very close to the local mosque so the calls to prayer are extremely loud, especially at 5.15am. The breakfast was monotonous, the same thing everyday. Also when going on trips the takeaway breakfast was always the same and we had to ask for water everytime. Some of the decor was dated, I.e. rotten wooden door frame in our bathroom. Perla do arrange trips but they have competition with a new provider across the street and Perlas prices and service do not compare unfortunately. They need to do some homework
