The location is good, close to a white‑sand beach and many restaurants, with a nice shared kitchen and free parking not far away. The toilet is very narrow.

The staff are very nice and the décor has character. The room smelled like chemicals, apparently to mask a floor odor, so I struggled between airing it out and cooling it while keeping bugs out. I liked the place otherwise, but sleeping there didn’t feel worth the money.

We were blown away by the bike‑themed Route 66 room; its design was just awesome. The space was generous, spotless, and stocked with everything we needed, from plenty of sockets to ample storage, even the small bathroom was perfectly organized. The shared kitchen, terrace with hangers, and communal gear like hairdryers were all thoughtfully arranged, with designated spots in cupboards and fridges, and a solid waste‑recycling system. Ruben greeted us personally, explained how everything worked, offered parking tips, and always made time to chat with us and other guests. He was also super‑helpful when we left some items behind. The location is fantastic, right in Machico centre with bars and restaurants all around, straight to Praia de S.Roque (stone beach, higher waves, still manned) and a 5‑minute walk to Praia de Machico (sand beach, protected bay, manned). The only small gripe was that the cutlery set could use a few smaller spoons, but otherwise everything was great!
