“Vorsicht bei später Anreise, es könnte sein, dass sie einen anderen Platz zum Schlafen suchen müssen”
We had arranged a late check‑in, but the forwarding line failed, so we found ourselves outside locked doors at 22:15. We ended up sleeping in a camper in a neighboring town until 23:00, when a call finally asked where we were staying. We decided to return for breakfast and stay another night, feeling no regret but reassured that the technology should have worked; apparently we couldn’t dial the right number. The cost for that night, minus breakfast, was refunded.
The location and the staff’s friendliness were great, but over four nights we never received room service, there were a few things that needed fixing, and the room didn’t feel as comfortable as I’d expected for a Deluxe Double based on the description.
After the restaurant closed, we were able to sit in a separate room with drinks from the fridge; it was very nice and practical.
“Ein sehr schönes traditionelles Hotel am Markt.”
The hotel is a very pretty historic building right on the market square. In summer you can eat and drink well under the hotel’s sunshades at noon and in the evening. Breakfast offers fresh rolls from a traditional bakery right next door. From there you can organize a hike to Scheibenberg or explore the beautiful Ore Mountain countryside all the way to Fichtelberg in Oberwiesenthal and beyond.
I woke up to a freshly made Eier‑Speise with Speck for breakfast, and it was delicious.
