“Good location, but one of the least welcoming and least professional hostel experiences I’ve had travelling the World”

The only bright spot was the dog, the cat, and the spot right at the park entrance, but everything else was a nightmare. I sent a message two days before and got nothing, then spent a motorbike ride and a 15‑minute wait at night before anyone opened the gate. The staff tried to make me cancel and pay them directly, and when I said I’d lose my money, they laughed.

The place was spotless, breezy, and the staff were super friendly. I felt right at home in the middle of nature, and the scenery was breathtaking. I’m already planning a return trip. No reason to worry – just go.

Tico welcomed us warmly and the hostel is a peaceful mountain retreat. It's just a five‑minute walk to the park entrance, and the hot shower was a nice bonus. The breakfast is amazing too. I strongly recommend it.

“No running water or lights. Charged r$90 for a coffee and ham sandwich”

The place was a disaster – no running water, no lights, and the host forced us to shower in a creek at night. He pressured us to leave at 7 am even though checkout was 10 am, and later charged us for a breakfast that was a ham sandwich and coffee, costing R$90. He demanded Pix payments only, even though we didn't have Pix, and his constant messages made us feel uneasy in a remote area.
