It’s well‑located if you have a vehicle and close to the city center. The bedding was a bit “hard” and there’s a major sound‑proofing issue. The first night we were the only guests, so no problem. The next night we had neighbors, and it was complicated— we heard their voices, their slightest movements. In short, it’s very poorly sound‑proofed.

A perfect little unit for what we needed; it was clean, warm, and in the ideal location, which is why we booked it. The staff were wonderful, and there was really nothing else to note.

Breakfast was decent and the cafe had a rustic charm that worked well. The staff were friendly and helpful. The Raglan area is worth exploring if you’re into surfing, though we didn’t go. There was no fire alarm, even though you could see where two had been. One power outlet had burn marks, which was a bit unsettling without an alarm. The main light was out. The plastic kettle made the water taste bad; we couldn’t drink tea or coffee because of the plastic flavor and had to buy a kettle in Hamilton. A couch would have been better than the single bed, so we used the outdoor chairs. We didn’t spend much time in the unit, so it didn’t bother us too much.

It was just enough for what we needed :) The place was very warm and the beds were super comfy, especially the pillows!
