The spot looked gorgeous, but it didn’t feel as calm as we’d hoped; a bench to sit and take in the view would have helped.

This review concerns the Guest House White Monkey Dias, because the host advised against staying at the Eco Lodge. The valley view is stunning and the setting is very quiet, and it’s nice to sit with other guests in the evenings. Unfortunately we couldn’t stay at the Eco Lodge. The food was only satisfactory. The duvets weren’t clean and it seems they aren’t changed for every guest. Some hosts were less friendly than expected, and communication was lacking—no one told us we couldn’t spend the first night at the Eco Lodge, and messages went unanswered. The excursion prices arranged by the guesthouse are noticeably higher than other providers.

This place felt like a slice of paradise! The eco lodge, run by Viraj, links to White Monkey guesthouse and a walk down the hill from Franky’s hut. Viraj is a super helpful and fun owner, and his whole family are incredible people. We were lucky to have amazing meals from all three spots—so many fresh, beautiful vegetable curries, rice, BBQ, and breakfasts. The whole family goes out of their way to make sure you’re comfortable and enjoy your time there. They offer great advice and can arrange tours of the stunning local nature. We even had Henna there, and the artist is excellent. The eco lodge itself boasts a beautiful view, is peaceful, clean, and is definitely a must‑stay if you’re in the area. My husband and I stayed two nights and would have extended if it wasn’t so close to the end of our Sri Lanka trip! We’re so grateful to have found it—thank you so much, Viraj and family!

We had a great family evening at this accommodation. Dinner was very good, and we chatted with the staff. Then we headed to the camp with a flashlight… a real adventure for the kids, with the night sounds of birds. At the camp we enjoyed a nice bonfire to end the night. The next morning, the wake‑up was magical with the sunrise over the tea fields. All of this was in good spirits, thanks in part to Virage and Franky!
